So, December 17th about 2 am it begins.....the vomiting. My poor baby girl is just puking everywhere. : (

By December 18th, we're going to see Dr. Jennifer Hill-Birk (who is the world's most awesome doctor!). We get there for a 10:45 appointment and she basically gives me until 3 pm to get this baby girl to take fluids, one medicine dropper full every 5 minutes and have wet diapers. She needs at least 1 every six hours or it's off to be admitted into the hospital-this of course causes mommy to cry at the very thought.

3 pm comes and goes. She's taking her fluids and has had a wet diaper (approximately 12:30-ish). We're cautiously optimistic. Doctor says doing okay. Keep pushing those fluids (not quite as often, but keep her drinking). Wet diapers aren't coming as much as we need to see.

December 19th-call to the doctor, no wet diaper since 9:30 previous night. Not that interested in taking too much of the pedialite either. Just wants to lay around and sleep. It's hospital time per the doctor.

We show up at Community North's ER. They are really sweet and nice there. We have absolutely no wait what so ever, it's 2:08 in the afternoon. We see a couple different Doctor's or doctor's assistants, they tell us how we're going to rehydrate her.

The needle part was my least favorite. They stick her in her little arm and can't get the vein. They end up putting it in her little hand. :( She's none too pleased by this either. After a little while she starts to perk up some. We finally get to leave around 8:30 pm that night. : )

We get home and she sleeps, in mommy's arms, of course (duh). Saturday, she's acting like our baby girl again. She's playing some, drinking pedialite like it's going out of style, then Matthew runs to the bathroom and begins puking. Oh yeah....another child is sick. : ( His only last until about 6 pm, and he was done and I'm really proud of him because he managed to get to the bathroom every single time.

Sunday-everything's still going good. Ashley wants a bottle, so I let her have her formula. She seems to do okay with it. She's up and playing and getting into mischief like usual. : ) I decide to do my usual Sunday thing and shop with my sister. We take Matt with us so she can get him his Christmas present. It was a bitterly cold day with nasty wind chills, but it was still a good day.

We get home that night and about 10:00 pm Ashley starts to puke, again. I'm running out the door at 11:30 at night, heading to the 24 hour pharmacy of Walgreen's in Greenfield after I've confirmed that they carry the liquid form of the Zofran that the hospital gave us a script for. Get home a little after midnight and give her a dose. She finally stops throwing up. This time around was nasty. She had stuff coming out her nose and I'm sure it hurt. She kept looking up at me with those big blue eyes like she wanted me to save her and I could do nothing. : (

I rocked her and held her until about 2 am, then placed her in her bed and tried to get a little sleep. Working tomorrow is obviously not happening.....again. She wakes up crying about 3 am, so it's cuddle time with mommy in our big bed.

Have to get up and head downtown with Ashley to take Steve to work, but first have to stop by mommy's work so I can do a couple of little things really fast that I can't do from my computer at home (I've been working at home since Wednesday-trying to keep my job and all). Drop daddy off at work and head home for a day of clingy and whiny high maintenance stuf with the baby girl. She just isn't back to the usual self yet.

Tuesday morning, she's doing a lot better, so it's back to the babysitter. She's a little cranky, but makes it threw the day. Still not back on her usual diet, so we're having tummy issues and she's got some problems trying to get the poo out. Not a happy baby, but she sleeps now....so I shall try as well. : )

We're supposed to leave for our vacation Friday....think it will happen? God I hope so!

I became one of "those" parents today. Matt had his first basketball game in the rec league here in town and it was a blow out (in our favor), but when you play a team that is so completely out of your league, it takes all the fun out of it.

1st problem...the league decided to combine 5th-8th grade in one league this year because enrollment was down and the 7th and 8th grade league did not have enough kids to make a league, so they would not have been able to play. We should have been asked if we wanted our kids put together with the younger kids or at least given the option to try and take them somewhere else...now it's way too late.

2nd problem...they have created a special set of rules for this year since they have combined the teams together and you have experienced bigger kids playing with the younger less experienced kids. These new "rules" were not conveyed to the coaches until Friday afternoon, the day before the first game. They'd been practicing based on the normal usual basketball rules and most of those went out the window.

3rd problem...the parents on the other team. One thing I can and will not tolerate is someone disrespecting my child. Matt has his good and bad qualities, but he's out there to play to the best of his abilities and have a good time. He loves the game and wants to be the best he can at it. These stupid idiot parents on the other team had the nerve to actually applaud and make rude comments rather loudly as my son and the other tall 8th grader, Dominick, were taken out of the game to take their turn on the bench. I didn't hear the stuff on Dominick because I was in the hall with Ashley, but I came back in when Matt came out and heard the dumbass comments and I was sitting there like.....Are you freakin' kidding me? I was ready to go over there and smack the ring leader, who I should have expected this from based on previous run ins in the past.

I mean come on people. I understand you don't like it when your kids team is getting their butts handed to them because they are in a league that's been inappropriately matched up, but can't we behave like grown ups? I wasn't smarting off because of how badly they were playing...and they were. It's not sportsman like and it's just not nice. I was actually applauding them when they finally made a basket.

It's no fun to play a game when it's a freakin' cake walk. The boys wanted competition (which they did not get today, however). It just really ticked me off and I should have just gone up and said something without being mean. What kind of message does that send to your kid?

Just ticking me off......so I sent an e-mail to the commissioner of our league. He addressed the issues, best that he could, still not to my satisfaction, but he addressed them non the less.

It's just not been the best of days in general for us. :( Tomorrow should be better.

We managed to survive Thanksgiving! : ) That's an accomplishment right there. We have also survived Steve being deathly ill for 2 weeks with fevers spiking up to almost 103 degrees for no flippin' reason, but a couple rounds of antibiotics and lots of rest later, we're almost a whole week of him being back to normal. : )

I had the pleasure of going to a high school orientation type of thing tonight for my almost 14 year old son. They are starting the class scheduling process of the 8th graders for this next year's session. Talk about the reality check right smack dab in the middle of your forehead! I went to that same school, but it's not the same school anymore. They've added about 3 levels and made 4 renovations since I graduated from there 20 years ago. The discussed the children taking driver's education class. This nearly made my heart stop. The thought of Matt taking driver's education......OH MY GOD! GET OFF THE SIDEWALKS PEOPLE!

The whole thing was quite overwhelming to be honest. He has decided that he wants to do the techy stuff with the computer programing and he wants to take weightlifting as a flippin' class-oh and it's a 2 credit class. Weightlifting, a class. Are you kidding me? He's signing up, non the less. They will mail their first draft of the schedules out in March, I think that's what they said anyway. (I was never very good a paying attention when I went there anyway) Once you receive the 1st draft you can make changes, and I'm sure there will be changes to be made.

Mr. C, who was the cutie teacher that all the girls lusted after when we were freshman, well he's about to take over as principal for the high school and he has 4 kids and 25 years at the school now. He has aged along with the school, but he's still a cutie. :)

I see people I went to school with as we're sitting in the new auditorium listening to the instructions. They have kids in the same grade as mine and I never really realized it. It was all just really sureal. Matt is of course moritifed because as I walk the halls, I continually say things like, hey, I used to have a locker right there...your dad and I got caught making out right there by Mrs. Fox...this room used to be the journalism room...he was not impressed and referred to me as a dinasaur or something to that likeness. I feel so old! I can't beleive I'm about to turn 39 in a little over a week! : (

Oh, and I traumatized my daughter by making her sit on santa's lap. I think the picture says it all.
